Rick & Betty Preston started their business in 1975 on Greenfield Drive in El Cajon, California, originally called Rick's Hitches & Welding. A visionary couple, they saw the need for better options for hitch and tow and struck out to meet that need. Over the next ten years the needs expanded so they renamed the company Rick's Hitch & Muffler.
